Description
We meet you at the port and whisk you away for a delicious local breakfast, finishing the day with a local light lunch.
In-between, take a relaxed stroll around central La Romana enjoying the local culture and viewing local people at work and play. We will show you the real La Romana with its varied shops and restaurants, food and drinks and merchandise.
Finally, don't forget our Tips for Locals scheme where we ask you to tip local people rather than us.
Schedule (Example 10 am start)
10.00 am: Collection in a private taxi to take for a Like a Local Breakfast. Menu includes breakfast with banana, avocado butter sauce, eggs and sauteed onions with olive oil and stewed tomatoes. Plus, a glass of wine, coffee or soft drink.
10.15 am: Stroll around central La Romana enjoying the local culture and seeing local people at work and leisure.
12.00 pm: We visit local boutique and gifts shops plus walk the secret but safe backstreets.
1.00 pm: Like a Local Lunch.
Enjoy a truly delicious Dominican light lunch of La Bandera (“The Flag”). Rice, red beans, meat (beef, chicken, pork, or fish), and salad.
2.00 pm Return in a private taxi to the port and ship.
Please note that between 15th Nov and 5th Jan each year this excursion has a Christmas theme including the Christmas lights, Christmas food and wines and Christmas present surprises.

Excursion Length: 4 hours
Start and finish times: flexible depending on ships arrival time.
Meeting Instructions: Leave the ship and walk directly to themain terminal (approximately 10-minute walk) to be met by our local excursion leader at the cruise terminal holding a sign with your name and the brand Like a Local.
Private taxi provided to and from the terminal.
